Crack detection Ball Studs


The here shown system for crack detection on ball studs is exemplary for a lot of such systems.

The parts are individually fed and put on a transport conveyor belt.

The point of contact is built as rotary prism and allows the rotation of the parts during the test cycles.

A belt drive, positioned above the measuring position, moves the parts during the testing.

Two diff.-probes test the ball for cracks.

Before the crack detection, other geometrical characteristics like the depth of the centre holes and the ball are also tested.

At the end of the transport conveyor belt the sorting is done by a switch.

While the bad parts fall into a box below the transport conveyor belt, the good parts are situated in the correct positional arrangement, ready for removal.
