After more than 31 years in which the company has constantly developed, we see ourselves as a system house for automation solutions with a focus on sales and repairs from devices for eddy current crack testing, conductivity testing and structural testing to fully automated complete solutions for 100% control.
As LAW NDT, we want to continue to support our customers as a professional, competent and efficient partner in the future – in all questions relating to maintenance and repair/spare parts procurement in the area of industrial automation.
Our successes to date and the positive feedback from our customers and partners show that this path is exactly the right one. We look forward to supporting you and your company with the right products and services.
Our history
Finally a little more space again - in October the production area was expanded by 300m².
Further expansions of the LAW NDT are planned for 2024: for series production of our
MEXS 400, for new space for research and new developments and of course continued for the
manufacturing of classic systems and special solutions.
The BSFZ seal is exclusively awarded to companies that carry out research and development within the meaning of the Research Allowance Act.
This seal officially confirms the continuous research and development performance of LAW NDT, in this case specifically for the innovation competence in relation to our MEXS 400.
In the large reader vote of the MM Maschinenmarkt, the MEXS 400 impressed in the “Modular Machine Concept” category. The LAW NDT receives the “Best of Industry 2022” award for this.
The SWR also reports on LAW NDT and the new modular measuring and testing system: Economics Minister Daniela Schmidt presents the LAW NDT with the Rhineland-Palatinate Innovation Award 2022 for the MEXS 400 in the “Company” category.
A prize for our MEXS 400 from the Investment and Structural Bank Rheinlandpfalz (ISB) “The winning companies are excellent examples of how they benefit from questioning traditional business models and realizing their visions.” According to Dr. Ulrich Link, member of the ISB board.
In the middle of the second Corona lockdown, we received the great news: We successfully mastered the scientific selection process with over 120 test criteria in the Top 100 innovation competition and were awarded the TOP 100 Award for the LAW NDT's innovative strength.
Cancellations, a slump in orders and a drop in sales - this is how many companies left the first quarter of 2020. We were also hit hard by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead of sticking our heads in the sand, we developed the MEXS 400 as the first modular measuring and testing system - a revolutionary world first that goes beyond the previously known limits of automated measuring and testing systems and redefines flexibility.
Mr. graduate engineer Reza Mahllati becomes the new owner and managing director. With its diverse industry knowledge and decades of management and sales experience, we are more than confident about the next few years and look forward to further steady and healthy growth, together with you as a valued (future) business partner.
After having the courage to found a company after over 30 years of strong personal commitment, it is up to the GmbH and its employees to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to Angelika and Otmar Moll and to pass on the best wishes for a well-deserved retirement and the rest of their lives.
On the occasion of our anniversary and after 30 years of company history, we would of course first and foremost thank our employees, without whose commitment such a success story would not have been possible. We would also like to thank our business partners, companions and suppliers for the years, or even decades, of successful and trusting cooperation. We are starting the next few years with thousands of ideas for innovative machine concepts, applications and clever automation solutions – for you!
We have now built the right machine for a wide variety of applications: crack testing, internal depth testing, contour testing, 360° camera testing, assembly systems, screwdrivers, pressing, joining technology and many more. We would be happy to include your application in our future success story.
The materials change – we stay! The plastic has long since developed from its “plastic” image into an innovative material and impresses in many areas with its versatile properties and cost-effectiveness at the same time. It was therefore a logical consequence for us to offer a tailor-made solution for quality assurance for plastic parts as well.
We are celebrating the quarter century of our company history with business partners, companions and families in the form of a large in-house exhibition and an equally large bouncy castle for young and old. Maybe you were there too? Dubbed “THE celebration” by all employees, we look back very fondly on these days and all the big and small milestones in our company’s history so far.
We are discovering the international trade fair “WIRE” in Düsseldorf as a new platform for our machines, devices and accessories. With 30 m² of stand space and exhibits from the areas of crack testing, optical testing, assembly systems and special machines, we offer an area for personal advice and on-site demonstrations of our delivery program for all interested parties.
We take stock: The last 20 years have been characterized by healthy growth and constant development, both of the company and of our testing systems. We are now internationally known for our clever special solutions, deliver throughout Europe and also offer a personal and fast after-sales service.
At the risk of repeating ourselves: We are constantly growing and are expanding our production hall by a further 200 m². Since this extension also adds a lot of storage space, we are able to keep a large proportion of common items in stock in order to be able to respond even more quickly to spare parts and service orders in the future.
After intensive development work and the production of the first probes last year, we can now also test aluminum parts using eddy current technology. This opens up new opportunities and a growing customer base.
With our own distance compensation technology, we achieve improved result evaluation in eddy current crack testing through digital signal processing. Thanks to the corresponding “LAW Scope” software, distorted measured values caused by distance fluctuations are a thing of the past.
Due to developments in recent years, our space requirements are constantly increasing. Another move is due: We are building a completely new company building with a large production hall in the Zollhaus industrial area in Schiesheim. After 15 years of operating history, we have increased our company space 20 times compared to the year we were founded.
Quality goes into series! We have grown up in the field of screw testing and have made a name for ourselves in recent years. One of the many positive consequences is a small series of four complete testing machines for a large screw factory: from feeding the screws to measuring and crack testing right through to packaging the good parts - everything comes from a single source!
At the turn of the millennium we changed our name to “LAW-NDT Mess- und Testsysteme GmbH”. After our competencies have developed far beyond commercial representation over the last few years, we are now sending a clear signal to the outside world.
The construction of the ultrasonic testing system for the German Federal Railway is a milestone for our 5-man mechanical engineering department. This is also increasingly reflected in the transformation of Vertriebs GmbH into a well-known mechanical engineering company and the establishment as a recognized manufacturer of individual testing systems.
We are moving for the GmbH's tenth birthday: our growing mechanical engineering industry can now develop even further in an area of almost 200 m² with an office and production hall.
Christoph Kaiser, a full-blooded creative engineer, joined the company in 1997. With his technical expertise and extensive industry knowledge in mechanical engineering, we can generate and offer more and more in-house developments and designs.
We are getting bigger – so are our customers. With a testing system for rear axle shafts commissioned by a well-known automobile manufacturer, we have since been a direct supplier to the automotive sector. With a length of up to 100 cm, the rear axle shafts are among the largest test parts.
The construction of our own crack testing systems has also promoted further in-house developments, such as our WRP type eddy current crack testing devices. In these devices we can combine our expertise in the field of crack detection in an in-house development “Made in Germany”, which has proven itself many times over to this day.
More than just random samples: Further listening to our customers' needs, we developed - still with paper and pencil - the first crack detection system for 100% control in the production line. At the time, none of us were really aware that this was the foundation stone for our development from a sales agency to an in-house developer and manufacturer of crack detection systems.
The first trade fair, a year after the company was founded, turned out to be a small but successful adventure. Things like corporate design and customer relations management were not yet an issue here; Nevertheless, we impressed with functional devices for conductivity, structure and crack testing.
The history of our GmbH begins on October 29, 1988 under the commercial register number 3494, as a one-man sales company for testing equipment from the USA: “LAW-NDT Meß- und Testsysteme Vertriebs GmbH”. Import, sales, repairs and service are handled independently by Mr. Moll in 20 m² of office space.
