The MEXS 400 is a modular testing system for 100% control. The testing stations sit on mobile trolleys. They can be replaced within minutes. The material carriers can also be replaced in seconds without tools. This enables test processes to be reconfigured at any time and maximum flexibility. It is also possible to maintain the test stations outside of the ongoing process.

Eddy current testing technology is the first choice for detecting cracks, overlaps, notches, surface defects etc.
LAW NDT offers the use of in-house, robust analog devices as well
as modern digital variants for use in the testing systems.
For test criteria such as material mix-up or different hardening depths, the high
throughput speed is ideal for economical sorting of screws, balls, needles, shafts, etc.
For testing heat treatment, material mixing and hardness on finished parts made of aluminum, copper,
Bronze and other non-ferrous metals including LiAl alloys
Dimensional control to determine e.g. length, height, width dimensions, diameter, straightness, etc. Depending on

The conventional plate becomes an oval transport route and the familiar, permanently installed, testing stations become individual, flexible modules: modules that can be inserted into the system at any time, log into the system fully automatically and expand or change the function of the system in the shortest possible time to solve the task.
For example, if you are now working on a batch with eddy current crack detection and optical inspection of the head and shaft, thanks to the flexible and modular structure, you can work with a new constellation just minutes later – e.g. with a second optical module or a structural test. By inserting the mobile, intelligent module, the machine adapts to your tasks.
By adding module shafts and extending the running rails, the basic machine can always be expanded by two module spaces. Our technicians can expand the MEXS 400 on site to up to 10 prefabricated, standardized modules.
Test tasks for new products can be discussed and planned in advance. The required modules are pre-equipped and available at the start of production.
As in the past, all of LAW NDT’s visual and tactile measuring methods are available to you for the MEXS 400.
The compact design of the MEXS 400 and the step away from the plate with its ever-increasing diameters towards the oval transport route reduces the space requirement. The possibility of modular expansion eliminates the need to purchase an additional machine for large quantities.
If a module fails, production can start again immediately by simply replacing it. For the first time, repairs are now possible outside of the production process. If things have to go really quickly: we keep standard modules in stock.
Thanks to the modular design of the MEXS 400 and the uncomplicated exchange of the modules, it can be converted to any number of products within a short period of time. Long downtimes are now a thing of the past. This means that even small batch sizes can be responded to better and offered more cheaply.
By separating transport and measurement systems, LAW NDT is breaking new ground. Previous machines were completely developed and built for the materials to be tested. If the product ran out, the machines had to be extensively converted. Different with the MEXS 400. If the testing tasks change in the future, simply convert the MEXS to the current task outside of the ongoing process by changing the module arrangement.
Testing more than one product in one go is no longer a dream of the future. Thanks to the modular structure and the separation between material transport and measuring system, it is possible for the first time to test several products at the same time in one process. The number of products tested at the same time only depends on the number of module slots and the installed feed and ejection slots. Ask us about the possibilities. The material is fed into the transport system via a newly designed transfer station. By feeding on a continuous level from the guide rail to the transport system, bottlenecks in the flow of parts are eliminated. Setting work with “tactile sensitivity” on the feed rail with all the associated disadvantages is a thing of the past.
Our Smart Check app as an external control system for the new measuring and testing systems of the MEXS 400 series creates innovative transparency. This means you can log into the ongoing process of a system at any time and from anywhere and, for example, query how high the number of items currently being tested is. This works very easily via your smartphone.
The MEXS 400 has a complete remote maintenance concept. Simple internet access is enough and our technicians can provide you with support directly in the system at any time.
Upon customer request, we deliver a complete package for internal data processing. Preventive maintenance – act instead of react and thus control production safely and proactively. A complete overview of the condition of the machine and the production results is possible up to the minute.

The requirements for quality assurance when manufacturing your product are constantly growing. 100% tests are now standard and the number of different tests is constantly increasing. Crack testing, optical testing, structural testing, and many others are now required by the end customer on a component-specific basis. Due to the resulting increased space requirement in the testing systems, the diameter of conventional plate machines continues to grow, which leads to hardly justifiable changeover times. The MEXS 400 is the answer to these requirements. The world’s first with an almost revolutionary, constructive approach.

The MEXS 400 has a complete concept for access via the Internet. This means that in the event of a problem, our technicians are virtually on site and can provide advice and assistance in resolving the problems. Simple access to the Internet is enough. Depending on the availability of a fast mobile network, the function can also be used without the company’s internal network infrastructure or IT.
